Blue Avocado is an online magazine for non-profit professionals that provides education, thought leadership, and meaningful discussion about a wide range of topics. The overarching goal is to help non-profits to maximize their impact by providing them with the resources to implement effective practices.

Blue Avocado was seeking a completely redesigned website to help them achieve their top goals:

• Improved organization and usability to enable end users to more easily find topics of interest and related content.
• More flexibility in website structure to allow for growth and change without having to rebuild the website.

We first helped them migrate over 10 years of blog content from their Drupal website. Then we set out on a process of planning and implementing a new taxonomy for tagging and categorizing all the content for improved find-ability. We used the plugin "Toolset" to setup advanced blog features, sorting methods, and manual overrides for the editors to rank certain posts to always show up higher in search results.

The end result is a highly navigable and mobile friendly website with over 600 articles that can be browsed by topic, category, author, and more.
